This program will provide students the necessary skills and innovation to render quality direct patient care. The Patient Care Technician (PCT) can serve as a valuable first step into the world of professional healthcare. Duties are primarily focused on working closely with patients in conjunction with nurses and with other health care team members
Our curriculum includes classroom, laboratory exercises and supervised clinical hours, which may come in the form of internship or externships. The PCT training program will educate students on the duties and responsibilities of taking vital signs, providing basic patient care (bathing, feeding, catheter care, personal hygiene and grooming, bed making, positioning and turning, assisting patients in range of motion exercise and ambulation), performing phlebotomy essentials including proper blood collection and testing procedures, performing standard 12-lead EKG, providing proper wound care, pressure ulcer prevention and more.
